Firstly thank you to those of you who dropped me a few words over the past few days - they were really appreciated. Although it was a tricky period, I hope things are on a more reliable footing at present.
On a totally different subject, was it just me or was there some total hypocracy at Westminster this week?
MP's expenses were published with some interesting facts and figures. One MP usually branded as 'friend of the working black person' was found to have spent thousands on taxi fares around London (where public transport is about the best in the country); others spent £30,000 on mileage claims although they only live 30 mins from Westminster.
But it wasn't this that really caused me a problem. - It was the reaction that came from the MP's as a result. A group have been formed to amend the Freedom of Information Act (the act under which the media got the details) to exclude requests of Members of Parliament. - Is it just me that sees an itsy bitsy inequality in that ??
